Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is one of the most important figures for peace in the WORLD. Not only did he lead India to independence, but he also did it peacefully without causing any harm and preventing many causalities Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869. All throughout his life Gandhi has overcame many obstacles both mentally and physically.
In the entirety of Gandhi's life he has always followed these words "When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it. Always." He encouraged all people to be peaceful, even if they had a righteous reason to be violent. These words spoken by Gandhi mean that no matter how bad life gets it will always turn out better. This helped out Gandhi a multitude of time all throughout history from when he was in South Africa as an attorney protesting for Indian rights all the way to his death. An example when he shows this would be when the British massacre many Indians and Gandhi take no physical action.
Gandhi died on January 30, 1948. But when he died his teachings and many life lessons stayed here with us in his spirit. Gandhi's actions has influenced our society today in various ways such as the civil rights movement in the 60's. Overall without Gandhi, America wouldn't be like ow it is today.
